Journey to justice : a poem for Libra season

Love all the parts of you, Babe. The confusing parts too.

The parts that are beauty inherently incarnate.

The parts that feel less familiar and more like drowning.

The tiny parts that act like sharpened shears, broken bottle edges and knives.

The parts that are transparent and soft like the silk of a greek goddess’s skirt.

Trust that you can take care of you, when the sh*t hits the fan.

The things that you’ve learned will guide you. Just have faith now, Babe.

And I can hear the timeless rusty chains of the golden scales tipping.

From this life to a past one.

Back and forth, and back again.

Dripping, beating, ventricle heart on one side - a throbbing labyrinth styled brain on the other.

My body knows no more of silence.

My mind fire burns the slowest of slow burns.

My soul heeds the call and entices my feet to catch up with its wake.

And my heart only feels the calm of calm within. The stillness only a warm cup of coffee knows.

To return to the place I’ve only known as home within myself and without.

A seed of justice planted in my mind to grow in the palm of your hand like a child in need.

Endure, Babe. Assure, Babe.

BE BAD ASS, BABE.

And your journey to justice will be a sweet lovely one.

Until next time,

keep planting, keep breathing

-Jamie
