fire | a poem for creative souls

Have you ever felt a fire rage inside you so badly you thought you would explode like a volcano? I often do <3 I wrote this poem to reflect the desire I have to pour that fire into the world, not to burn it down, but to create. As a creative I often feel so much push, pull and resistance with what’s inside that needs to be expressed and how the world will judge me. This poem is an anthem, a heart song about the dance I take with the fire inside me.

I hope it inspires you to do that dance and then make the choice to ultimately express yourself not matter what the resistance inside of you <3

Fire

She breathes air.

Born into this world, into this body, into this Heart.

Her Heart beats.

It is loud, it is longing, and it is lonely before it even knows it is. The emptiness and the likeliness that the world she has come to know is no longer hers.

As it never was, has always felt like a curious thing that somewhat resembles a life within a dream or a dream within a life, like some Alice in Wonderland.

When she was little she thought she would turn into water, down by the lake. Capsized like a plush, warm rug pulled out from under your feet.

Then she left in search of air.

These lungs were, after all, made for her by a tailor of her own making.

But they were too small and had to be taught how to breath.

Breath came and breath went. And when she and her lungs manufactured a fake sense of the need for oxygen she turned her body elsewhere. Her hopes and dreams seemed to become clear. Or as comfortable as a lovely friend such as the Mad Hatter.

So she left in search of the Earth beneath her feet.

The Earth as she came to believe was the thing she needed the most. “The ground will catch me if I do fall” She said out loud.

But before she even knew it, she had lost both her feet. The ground shook beneath her, an unfamiliar earthquake. As she lie on her back, she saw the sky begin to crack and fall.

She felt capsized again.

She wondered about the lake and she wished she could turn into water. But the clock ticked forward.

For years and years she lie there.

Still, uncalm. Wondering, questioning if this Earth was really made for her. This call to be elsewhere. At a different time and place. A place where time does not exist. A place to belong, the need to feel right.

So she began her search. A search for a part of her that was deep, deep, deep within her. A place so deep it only appeared to be written within the stars and recited from the blood, bones, and cells in her body.

She began her search to reclaim a piece of her she chose to become. From South Node to North Node, from Libra to Aries.

She began her search.

Her search for her Fire.

If you’d like some additional support in searching for your fire, book a 1:1 breathwork session or join a group event. I will create a gentle space to breathe, feel and get in touch with that volcanic spark inside of you <3
