on receiving & a breathwork exercise for you
I’m in the Struggle, the Crumble and Facing Resistance to receive in times of need
When was the last time you felt yourself fall to pieces?
When was the last time you felt it happen at your own hand?
One decision you make can make a world of difference when it comes to the outcome of a collapse induced by an alignment with fate.
So, when we crumble, we tend to cower within. We hibernate, we hermit, we coil back into ourselves.
I don’t believe there is anything wrong with this. But, sometimes I am an expert at going at it alone too often.
And for me, ( if we can just have a moment of duality here ) I know that the one thing that can make a world of difference is if that crumbled pile stays a pile of crumble or if it melts itself into a fresh new cement mix ready for a brand new sleek and beautiful, strong foundation pour.
The difference really depends on if I am open to receiving what is around me.
Be it the energy of other people, animals, plants, signs, repeating numbers, teaching symbols from a deep lucid dream or even just a new energy or a willingness to be open to what comes next from the universe…
Often receiving is perceived as a weak thing. It’s correlated with needing something.
Needing help.
But, our society has brainwashed us into believing that we are supposed to be built to be “tough” and “strong” and “independent” to survive and that any form of what could be perceived as a weakness, means you are unfit to lead, live and prosper.
This may be the truth for some… but this just isn’t the absolute truth.
Think of the last time you really felt low. Like an all time low.
How did you cope? Did you do it alone?
Receiving is something that can be hard for us to do, but when we open our heart at our most tender moments for others to bare witness to, something really beautiful happens.
We become part of them.
And they become part of us.
This exchange generates such a massive amount of hope, trust, love and vitality that ultimately this becomes how we evolve into better humans. Which to me translates to a stronger collective of people.
When you open your heart to receive from what’s around you, your quantum energy ripples out into the collective consciousness which heals not only you, but others as well.
So, you see, we are not meant to survive alone. But, instead, we are meant to thrive together.
if there is anything at all we’ve learned from the past eight months, let this be it.
Let this be the powerful thing that we evolve into together.
There is no right way to receive. There is no wrong way to receive.
You just have to be willing to open yourself up to it.
The beautiful thing about it is that it’s always there for you. You don’t have to be crumbling to experience it and you don’t have to be perfect or productive either. It’s just there waiting for you to take it in.
You can feel joy and still receive.
You can feel grief, sadness and despair and still receive.
You can put a pause on your to do list and still receive.
So, next time you have a little moment to yourself or with someone else, maybe a loved one, a co-worker, friend or animal companion, try this out. Try receiving what’s around you.
I have a little breathing / receiving exercise below for you! Give it a go! Once your are finished, feel free to use the journal prompts in the PDF below to reflect on your somatic experience <3
as always,
